Move some users to a new domain and exchange

Hi, I need to move some users to a new domain in a new forest and also move their mailboxes. I do have network connectivity between the 2 domains. I will use admt for the AD stuff but was wondering what the best way to move user mailboxes is across domains? I was thinking I could just use move mailbox (ex 2007 to 2010) however would this require both exchange servers in the same exchange org or do they just need to be able to talk to each other?
