Hello, My company wanted to experiment with sharepoint. so i installed sharepoint portal server on an old and slow server. i created sites, installed web parts and uploaded infopath documents. i showed it to the execs and they love it. the only thing they hated was that it was slow. i told them thats because it's on an old server. they have now bought me a new server and want me to put all the work i have already created on the new server.

is there any way to move all the work i have done from one server to another? i am hoping so cause i put many weeks of labor and i really do not want to try and re-create the work. also one of the test sites i created is actually being used for a project so i really need to move that without re-creating it.

is there a way to do this?? i would really like some instructions on how to do this if it's possible.

Thanks in advance
mike

thanks for the link and the reply, but i don't think its really the answer. that linked talked about moving sharepoint services from one place to another i want to move sharepoint portal server to another server. i will look it over though just to be sure.

Thanks Again
mike

In the link there are instructions to backup you sharepoint database(site) on one server, then to restore the database on another server.

When frustrated remember, in the computer world there is almost always a backdoor.
