We are attempting to move an old Platinum for DOS from a Novell 3.2 server to a Windows 2000 server. Client PCs are Windows XP, and successfully use Platinum from the Novell server. Drive mappings have been kept the same, and the users can start Platinum without a problem. However when they try to run a report (only GL tried so far), they receive a 68 - File Not Found error (though it doesn't say which file can't be found).

The only thing I can come up with so far is the difference in search paths between Novell and Win2K. Anyone have any ideas on if this will work and how to do it? It looks like this might be version 4.something, from 1994. All help appreciated.

Novell and Windows map printers differently. Try the NET USE command to map the printers to your lpt ports.

Also on a different note I have written a Windows program to display the AR information and bring it all togeather. If you are using the AR module and at least Btrieve 6.15 and are interested let me know. The version I've written is for Platinum for Windows but could be made backward compatible. It does not require any Platinum user license to run so you can have as many users as you wish.

This occurs while trying to print the report to the screen, not to a printer. Printing to the screen works fine when using Platinum from the Novell server, and without a printer being captured to a LPT port.
