I want to move my Windows Networker 7.1.2 server to hardware. Assuming I keep the same server name and IP address, is it possible to just copy over the INDEX, MM and RES directories? I seen to remember reading somewhere that this would work, but now I can't find that reference. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Yes, it would work except for the fact that you would require new auth-codes. They are tight to the hostid which is determined from the SID which changes with each OS installation.

A Host Transfer Authorization from Legato should take care of that shouldn't it? I'd much rather go this route than have to restore all of my indices from tape.

Thanks for your quick response.
