Hello All.

We currently have 2 Storage Groups, and 4 Mailbox Stores. I'd like to have a seperate Storage Group (I believe 4 is the max) for each Mailbox store, in preperation for our company splitting up. I believe this will give us more resilience with restores, etc. as each store will have it's own set of Log Files.

I can't find any info on if this is viable - I can create a new Storage Group/Mailbox store and use the 'Move Mailbox' command, but thought there may be an easier way.

Thanks for any advice offered.

Thanks 58sniper - I'll stick with that then.

I should elaborate for the late comers. The reason why that's beneficial include that, for the most part, there is no downtime for the users (although they will get a prompt to close/open Outlook when the move is done). Also, moving to a new database means you end up with a database with a minimal amount of whitespace.

Plan for performance, and capacity takes care of itself. Plan for capacity, and suffer poor performance.
