We are in the procees of upgrading a server in our dmz. Also will be moving from server 2000 to 2003. We have defined 100+ local users to be able to ftp data to us. Now I need to move users and passwords to new server. Is there any scripts out there to do this?

You could certainly move the users with a script. It would more so be copying the users, due to the issue with moving SID's. I don't know of a way to query an unencrypted password out of AD, but you certainly can create the user with a defined password on the new server.

Essentially, you would query the users from the current system and create those users on the new system with defined password.

As far as the FTP site, you can export that to an XML file using IIS tools and import it to the new system. However, you will still need to perform the filecopy process and set ACL's on the target system.

Hope This Helps,

Good Luck!
