I'm a CICS reseller and buy the systems fully programmed then install them. While I have a fairly decent grasp and do a large portion of programming there are two things I'm having trouble doing:

1-How do I move the location of the two intercom buttons?

2-How do I remove the '9' to get out?

My thanks in advance for any help!

1. You cannot move the intercom buttons. Why would you want to do that?
2. If your talking about Centrex "9" then talk to your provider. If you talking about when they dial out they get intercom and dial 9 for an outside line, then under Line Access go to Prime Line and make it Pool A. (You must put the lines in Pool A first.)

Well they want x1-8 on the right side, and lines 1-6 w/2 intercom buttons on the left. Unfortunately the two intercom buttons on the lower right now so I wanted to move them.

When they press the button for line1-6 they still have to dial a '9' before making a phone call. You're saying this is the line provider and not a system feature then?

Thanks DigitelD!

If they press line 1 and then have to dial a 9 to dial out then yes it is a carrier issue.

I think what CTI06 is looking for is them just pushing a line button to dial out, rather than dialing 9 to access a line pool, using the intercom.

As far as the intercom button... the intercom button(s) and Handsfree/Mute (if turned on) cannot be moved.

You can put the lines into Pool A and set the Prime Line on the phones to Pool A and put a Dial Out button which dials the 9 on the phones. That way they pick up and get a line and push the Dial out button they can dial their number. Is that what you're looking for?

That would work, so a single button push would give them a line out of the pool and dial the 9? I'll give that a shot

Since the intercom buttons can't be moved I'll just move extensions 1-8 to the left side and put the line access to the right side.

also can do routing and insert 9 on all calls and just dial the tel number

You can move the line buttons using Feature *81.

I'm sorry, to answer your question, yes they would pick up the handset and get a line and then push the dial out button which is programmed to dial the 9 and then they would dial out.

After rereading the initial post, it sounds as if he wants the lines to "appear (and ring)" on each phone.

So, the user pushes "Line 1", "Line 2", etc.

This is fine if you don't have a telco hunt group, or have different companies for different numbers (and have 8 or less lines), but I agree that using a linepool is the best approach.
