Move From SQL 2014 Express To Newer Version

I have a client running SQL 2014 Express accessed thru a .Net program.
There are a few users that remote into the server to run the program.
We are updating the server and I was thinking about moving to a newer SQL express version.
This will be a new install of SQL and will backup and restore the DB to the new SQL.
Current DB is less than 4 GB, don't see the 10 GB restriction as an issue
Any guidance, suggestions, or gotchas would be appropriated.

Read about compatibility levels:

You might want to upgrade your database to run it in the native level of the new server, but a restore from an older version database won't necessarily work. To spare myself repeating several points, here's a discussion of migrating from 2014 to 2019:
