Hi everyone
We have a legacy Filemaker app that is running on a server that we need to move from the server due to costs. I believe it is version 5.
The application is used occasionally to lookup legacy data.
I am considering options including moving the data to SQL and putting a quick front end with .NET or reporting server, or maybe just moving it to a network file server. The application does not have to be multi-user since it is used sparingly. I believe the table structures are somewhat complex (I.E. lots of lookup tables with 1 and 2 type codes).
The second option of moving it to a file server looks promising. Has anyone done this before or can you point me in the right direction if this appears to be a good idea.
I should note that I do not have any Filemaker experience, but I am familiar with XBASE languages, SQL, and .NET.
Jim
