Hi everyone,
I need to move a bunch of folders on my win2000 server but i want to maintain all of the existing shares. I can recreate the directory tree and maintain the file/folder permissions with no problem, using robocopy, but is their a way to maintain the shares as well?
I'm trying to move the users home directories.
Thanks

if you have an additional box, then you can temporarily copy the shares to that other box, copy the directories on the original server to another disk, and them move the the shares itself back to the other disk on the original server

You can perform the share copy process with Hyena.
You can download a trial version which includes this functionality ---------------------------------------------------------------------
I have not failed, I've just found 10,000 ways that don't work
