Hi all,
we have a file system, that have to be moved to SAN( SAN hdisk is seen when we do "lsdev -Cc disk"). no need to worry about adding SAN disks.
i just to move one of filesystem which is local to the SAN hard drive.
can you give me the step by step procedure( becoz im working on the production box)

thanks in advance

assuming you can add the SAN-based hdisk to the same VG as the filesystem:

extendvg universevg hdisk42
migratepv -l booklv hdisk2 hdisk42

Substitute in your own names as appropriate.

You can do that live and hot without users knowing other than a slight i/o performance degradation.

Using the LVM and mirror copies to shuffle data around between various storage types is one of the really nice things about disk management in AIX.
