We are closing a facility and moving people to another facility. Both sites have option 11 PBXs that are connected to an Option 61 at our HQ.

We use 5 digits internally.
I would like to add the 33100 - 33199 to the new site so that when I close the old site I can change the CDP at all our other locations to point to the new site.

I am pretty confident I can repoint the CDPs, but for the life of me, I can't figure out how to add a bank of DNs to the other system. If I could do that, then all these people could keep their existing numbers. Normally, I wouldn't go through all this effort. I would re-assign them new extensions, but this is a sales office with very old ties to the customer base using their existing numbers.

I should probably restate my issue. My problem is that I have no idea how to enter the range of numbers into the switch so I can build the phones. Once that is complete I will have to battle remembering how to change the CDP to point to the appropriate site. That shouldn't be hard because I can copy the settings for another range that is already going to that new site.

Think of adding a DN to a system is a matter of just adding a key to a phone with that DN.

There is only one other place where DNs become a little more mysterious, and that is "Incoming Digit Conversion", used when the phone's DN can't be the same as the persons DID phone number.

IDC looks at the DID number that comes into the system and "converts" it to the extension on the phone.

IDC can be on TIE and DID type trunks, since both are "dial repeating"

IDC is created in LD49 and the the Trunk Route must reference the IDC table.

Alright, I am back to this issue again. Now I am more confused than I was before.

Here is my LUDN at the new site

REQ: prt
TYPE: ludn
CUST 0
DN 3

CUSTOMER 00 - UNUSED DNS:
34801 34802 34803 34804 34805 34807 34811 34812 34813 34814
34816 34817 34819 34821 34822 34823 34824 34825 34826 34827
34829 34832 34833 34834 34836 34837 34839 34841 34843 34844
34847 34853 34854 34857 34858 34859 3486 3487 34881 34882

34893 34894 34895 34896 34897 34898 36 37 38 39

I need to add 31 to it so I can have the extensions 31000 to 31999.

When I try to the copy method stated earlier, I get

Nothin in 31 is available, probablyh because 31 is used somehow. Do this:

LD 20
REQ PRT
TYPE DNB
DN 3

As for your "cpy" problem, do "cpy 1"

"cpy" alone is not allowed. It must be followed by the count of how many copies you want.

It is indeed a DSC

REQ: prt
TYPE: dnb
CUST 0
DN 31
DATE
PAGE
DES

DN 31
TYPE CDP
STCD DSC

So I guess I can out this DSC somehow and then try the cpy 1 command. I was hoping to get all my ducks in a row before their move, but it looks like I will have to hope and pray that everything works that weekend. ha!

I could, however, out the dsc, try the cpy 1 command and start adding phones ahead of time. But that particular location will not be able to access these people until they actually move, or will I blow up the system having two identical phone DNs in different locations if all the DSCs in the other locations are not tampered with....yet?

Any thoughts as how best to approach this activity?

By the way. I love this site. Everyone is always very willing to show me the light! Thanks GHTROUT, bhassell2000 , and askman2010!
