Migration question:
My company is upgrading the domain controllers to Windows 2003 from NT4 next month. We built a new printer server and have a login script written for the users that is supposed to automatically check which printers they have installed, delete them, and install the new server's printer driver, while keeping the default printer.
Well, we've run into some snags after testing. It works for the most part, but the boss has said he basically wats 100% success (ouch).
Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks in advance

Review my FAQ faq329-5798. It shows how to delete network or local printers.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Regards,

Mark

Probably too late for you but we use DNS Aliases for mapping printers, so if you move the printer you just point the Alias at the new server.

See the following from Microsoft:-

If it doesn't leak oil it must be empty!!
