move applicatio from HP-ux to linux (Vmware) ???

Hello,

It look likes they want to move from HP-ux to Linux Vmware... and I would like to know if it is possible?
I have oracle 8.1 running on a hp-ux 9000/800 with 512Mb memory and 1 cpu they used only 8gb of disks for the data (but may be they will be put on SAN).
Do you think Linux on Vmware will be enough to support it ?

in general: yes, you can.
