Move 2K DC HDDs from 1550 to 1650

Hi,

I've got a Windows 2000 Domain Controller running on a Poweredge 1550. I need to move this to a Poweredge 1650 and am wondering what might be the safest/easiest way to do this.
I could do a full tape backup and restore, or use imaging software but am wondering if it might be easier to just configure the RAID controller on the 1650 the same as the 1550 and physically swap the drives over.

I would be grateful for any suggestions on this.
