.Mov can it work in powerpoint

I have been trying to get some .Mov film clips I created with my olympus digital camera to work in powerpoint but Powerpoint does not seem to want to import it and run it.
Can powerpoint run quick time stuff or can .Mov be converted some how to .avi files which powerpoint does use?

If you install Quick time on the pc you are building your PowerPoint presentation then you can make a slide with an action button and set the properties of the action to run the .mov when clicked. I had the same problem on a presentation I had to set up and as long as Quick Time was installed and the properties were set for the action button everything has worked fine.
