I have a field in my access db that (for one) has about 50 different static records. I am trying to get it so when a user places the mouse over any one of the records (while form A is open); they get a description of what that particular record represents. Ex: Record #1 is UFO, on mouseover, displayed effect is texts saying "Unidentified Flying Object", Record #2 is EVP, on mouseover, displayed effect is texts saying "Electronic Voice Phenomena" etc, etc. I have searched the Posts and did not find a post thats along these specs. Is this possible in Access 2003 and if not can someone recommend an alternate solution? Thanks in advance.

A quite simple solution to this is to add the longer description a field to the table.

You don't show this field on the (tabular layout) form, but instead put it in the header or footer or another section of the form, where it will not be repeated. Just make a textbox bound to the description field. When a user selects any record, the associated longer description will be shown in the textbox.

I don't have a PC with Access right now, so I'm not sure how to do it with the MouseOver event right now.

Ruffnekk,

Thanks! Sorry, for the late reply. I've been out sick; however, I was able to use your suggestion on one of my forms that I was having trouble with.

While I was playing around, I was also able to get the mouseover effect by using the "Hyperlink ScreenTip". The only problem now is the Screentip will only allow about 85 characters. Do you or anyone know of a way to increase this amount and to not have the text in the form underlined?

Thanks again for you help!
