Mouse - strange

Sometimes, smth happens and my wireless mouse starts scrolling very slowly and I have to click 5 times on smth to open or close. I tried to change batteries, restart the system, nothing helped. The mouse works great otherwise. What's the problem and how to fix it?

Disable the feature that allows a push down on the scroll wheel to represent a double click.
