mouse smoothing

have athlon 900, 512mb ram geforce2 mx 32mb no matter how i set games up in video settings, the mouse/crosshair never seems to be as smooth as it should be! also runnig ps2 rate which really has not improved things. Used to run a voodoo 3500 which seemed to run a dam site smoother where am i going wrong? thought these geforce cards were supposed to kick voodoo butt??

I went back to my Voodoo 4500 card because of the same problem.
