Help, a laptop of mine is having a mental breakdown.
On booting, all s well. Then as the pointer is moved with the pad, wherever it lands on screen it behaves as though I have right clicked, offering the usual optio9ns. If it lands on an icon, the properties of the icon/programme are immediately displayed.
Anythoughts or workarounds please?

It sounds like the touchpad has gone faulty.
You could try disabling the touchpad in the BIOS & installing a rollerball or optical mouse instead.
