hi everyone,
i was just curious if this is possible and how...

... i want to make a menu that is a rectangle, say black. on top of it are the menu items (profile, works ... white type). so i know how to make buttons etc. ... but i want the black background change to grey when the mouse is over it (the rectangle, not the type) without the hand cursor showing up. the handcursor should only be there on the hotspot for the type. ... gee, this is a bad explaination for a question.

ok, like at ... when you roll over certain "spots", squares appear or in the case of the menu fade. but they did/do without showing the hand thinggy. so, ... do you create a hot spot and with script overrule the cursor to change? Or how is it done.

thanx for reading my badly put question and for any replies.

You could make the rectangle a movie clip, and use a hitTest to change it's alpha or whatever.
