Hello everyone, I hope everyone is doing well :-D

Here is my question, I have an HP laptop that is running Windows XP pro with a touchpad, using synaptics touchpad drivers. When I let the cursor rest over the "x" that closes the window, the mouse will seem to close it all by itself....without a click or touch. It seems to open or close whatever it is hovering over.....any thoughts? I have changed device settings and updated drivers...all to no avail. Hopefully somebody will have a fix for this, as this feature is very annoying. Does XP have a autoclick or dwell feature?

Thanks in advance for any help..... :)

Sounds to me like maybe its a feature of your hardware that can be turned off? Check properties or settings.

itguy75,

I also have a synaptics touchpad on my laptop. This is an annoying problem that seems to be static-charge related. Every so often I apply an anti-static wipe to the pad surface for a temporary cure. I have not found any permanent solution to this as static charges are not within the control of the PC itself.

Hope that this helps

So you are turning this feature off with an anti-static wipe, lol.
On the serious side, that must be a real pain.
What about the mfgr FAQ or emailing their tech support? I suppose you guys are past that and thats why you are here?
