Hello everyone.

I was just having a problem with one of the computers at work, which I never encountered before. When I switch the computer on, I am faced with the error message "no keyboard present" and given the option of pressing F1 to continue or DEL to enter setup. Now given that error message, I would presume the keyboard is unplugged. However, I am able to press F1 and continue. Also, after windows loads, I notice that the mouse doesn't seem to work, and I also notice that the caps lock or num lock lights are not comming on, even though there seems to be nothing wrong with the way the keyboard works. Anyone have any suggestions or ideas?

All your help is greatly appriciated, and thank you in advance.

Also having problems with my keyboard and mouse sometimes when powering up. When I try to enter my password there is no output from the keyboard and no lights appear on the keybard or microsoft optical mouse. The cause is a faulty connection at the PS2 plug. I have to pull off and reconnect the PS2 plug securely and this always fixes the problem. Have broken a plug already because of this and am searching for a good model USB keyboard to purchase. Hope this will help to fix your problem.

An "ad-hoc" solution would be to turn of "halt on keyboard-errors" in the bios (if the option is there in your bios of course)
