We have a 2003 server that boots quicker than another server that is publishing shares.

The shares are 'mapped' to a letter on the 2003 server but on cold starting both machines, the shares are simply not ready to be mounted.

e.g. My_Server (G:)

Is it possible to make a script that will after a certain amount of time, will try and mount the shares again then start a programme?

AFTER BOOTING -> WAIT 2 MINUTES -> MOUNT VOLUME MAPPED TO G -> START THIS PROGRAMME

Best regards

open command prompt and do a "Call Wait /?" for options This allows you to call a batch file(logon script) after a period of time.

VB probably has a better way so I would check for that solution in our VB forum or Googleit :)

hope this helps

pulled some old school out of my head....Windows 2003 does not have that ability.

Try the Windows 2003 Resource Kit 'sleep' command
