Hello,

I have a Mac Mini Tiger(10.4.11) and a Mac Pro Leopard(10.5.2) on the same home network. File sharing is enabled on both computers. The Tiger volumes are mounted on the Leopard - but I can't seem to mount the Leopard volumes onto the Tiger. I've done the following:
>Finder
>Go
>Connect to ServerPearson
>afp://192.168.1.46 (Leopard IP)
> Entered the correct name and password

Tiger is refusing access. Error message says either name or password was entered incorrectly. But the same name and PW can log me onto my Leopard computer.

Thanks in advance

Do you have the same username and password on both machines?

Check the username and password on the problem machine to make sure.

Using OSX 10.3.9 & 10.4.11 on a G4, G5 & Intel Macbook

Check the firewall and sharing settings on the Leopard machine.

System Preferences -> Sharing -> file sharing (make sure it's checked)
System Preferences -> Security -> Firewall -> Allow All.

If "Allow All" fixes the problem, you'll have to experiment to see if you can tighten things back down and still keep file sharing working.

I changed the account password and voila. I'll look into why it behaved this way later.

Thanks for your input
