where you mount the drive why is it that the fsck part references fsck instead of dsk.

Basically what is the difference between /dev/dsk and /dev/rdsk

thanks in advance!

rdsk is a character device which transfer data character by character.

dsk is a block device which transfer data by blocks.

You can go to google and search for solaris rdsk and dsk and you should see some good results.
