Mounting cdrom drive on IRIX 5.3

Anybody have any suggestions for mounting a cdrom drive in IRIX 5.3 <br>I have already tried powering up the drive and then rebooting which should work ...but didnt....&nbsp;&nbsp;I have tried ./MAKEDEV cdrom and that doesnt work either<br><br>when I got the system a removable hard drive had the SCSI ID of 4 which Irix normally uses for cdroms.... I tried setting cdrom SCSI ID to 4 and then removing the hard drive drive....but that didnt work either...<br><br>Any ideas

im not irix boff complete novice but have you tried mounting it manually mount /cdrom or whatevernmae you assigned .
