I know how to map a drive on a computer that is in the same network, but how can I mount a drive on a remote computer (one that is not on the same network as me)
OK. I finally found this on the internet. All the google searches were returning how to map a network drive. I was really starting to get concerned that this could not be done.
It seems the best way is to do a VPN. I had heard of this, but wasn't sure really what it was. Turns out it might be very useful.
If anyone knows other ways to accomplish this where it can be secure and generally easy setup, please point me in that direction. Also, since I already have routers that don't natively support VPN, I will be going for a software solution. I am currently looking at openVPN and Hamachi. I see that many people are complaining about the fact that Hamachi isn't open source, which somehow makes it less secure. Does anyone have any suggestions on a good/better software to accomplish this?
Sorry for wasting anyone's time with the first question as it was slightly vague, but I was really beginning to lose hope.
