In preparatin of a information store failure, I've been testing mounting blank databases in a test environment so we can get mail flowing again. Then we can fix the corrupt edb either via using eseutil or from backup and restoring to the recovery storage group and merging the data. My question is, during the process of mounting a blank edb, I've been renaming the production edb and stm files to something like -old, then remounting the store which then creates a new blank edb and stm file. Now I have not been renaming the log file folder locations because we have multiple stores that point to this location. My tests have worked, but does anyone have experience with this process? Have you used this in a production environment before? Has everything worked out fine? Any comments? Thanks.
