Mount problems

Using OpenServer 5.0.4 and trying to install Informix 7.3 DBMS. When I tried to mount the Informix CD-ROM the mount was unsuccessful (using graphic desktop Filesystem Mgr). Now I've got over 65 duplicate entries in the Filesystem Manager. I tried to use another screen and scoadmin's Filesystem Mgr. (that shows the number of filesystems mounted). I was able to delete a few but then it refreshes and adds more mounts - the mount point is {{/$INFORMIXDIR}}. What the heck happened and how do I get rid of all the mounted filesystems?

1. Make sure that you have the CDROM drive in your configuration using hwconfig. You should see a similar entry:
name=cd-rom vec=- dma=- type=IDE ctlr=pri cfg=mst dvr=Srom->wd
2. To simplify things, create '/cdrom' directory and use this as your mount point instead of $INFORMIX, since the '$INFORMIX' denotes a variable.
3. Use scoadmin to make sure you mount the CDROM properly. Run scoadmin.
Follow:
Filesystems>Filesystem Manager>Mount>Add Mount...>choose Local>Device File=cd0>Mount Point=/cdrom>OK.

Normally at this point, your CDROM should be mounted and you can access its content by going to /cdrom directory.

Hope this helps... :)

Thanks, I did manage to mount the CDROM to /mnt and got my files copied into /usr/informix. But I still have over 70 entries in my filesystems manager causing it to take forever to even come up.

I think the source of the trouble was trying to use $INFORMIXDIR as the mount point. I'm not sure that variable was set correctly to /usr/informix. But why did the error propogage itself over 60 times and it continues to do so? I just now used Filesystem Mgr. on the graphic desktop to remove the filesystems that failed to mount. I started with 70 entries. I deleted 3 then the system paused, refreshed the display and I had 74 entries! Only 3 are legit; /, /stand and /mnt. Isn't there a file I can edit to remove all these unmounted filesystem entries? I seem to be unable to do so in graphic desktop or scoadmin.
