I have SCO 5.0.5. When I try to mount u file system, I get next error:
No space left on device (error 28). When I work fsck -o full /dev/u,
It finished without errors. But fsck command work only 5 phases,
not work and 6th phase.

Best regards,

Pele

Hola Pele , it seem that your filesystem is full and that is why you cannot mount it.

What can you do now?

Try the same command (mount /dev/u /mnt) but in single user mode.
then watch for the space on the filesystem df -v
Remember that /mnt is under root or if you have another mount point like /y with more space.

If you can mount your filesystem in another mount point try to backup all your data and remove what is not in use in order to save space and then try again to mount it over the /u .

You have to look for space that is what i guess.

Have a good time.

UNIX ... FOR PEOPLE WHO THINK !!!

What I did to solve the same problem that I had on /u

#init 1 to go into single user mode from a multi mode.
#mnt -u to unmount your /u file systems or system, #fsck -y -ofull /dev/u
#fsck -y -ofull /u
run it twice.
#mnt -r to see if it can remount this file system and any others that you might have /u, /u2,/u3 and so on
#init 2 to go back into multi user mode.

check #/var/adm/messages for any errors recorded and #/var/adm/syslog
also as stated above check for actual disk space on /u
Hope that this helps.
#dfspace or df -k /dev/u
