I'm trying to mount a home directory "home3" from a remote machine. I am unaware of the fact whether the remote machine is linux or unix or solaris machine.

I've 2 solaris 10 machines. On one of them i'm able to mount the "home3" dir successfully while on the other its giving me error as :-
mount : <mount point>: Not owner

Please help.
Thanks in advance.

What is your UID (user ID number) on the two systems? It needs to be the same to allow you to do that. You can check it using the id command.
