I am having difficulty getting my cdrom to work. It appears that /dev/dsk may be corrupt. Any ideas? The mount command is not working like I know it should. It tells me there is not entry in /etc/fstab Are YOU Sancho?....No you are not. Is Scott Baio, Sancho?....NO, he is not!....Only.."I"....am Sancho!

try this:

mount -r /dev/dsk/c1t2d0 /SD_CDROM/

/SD_CDROM/ it the dir you mount it on.
it must exist and be empty.

These are the only files/directories in the /dev/dsk directory.
Should I add the c1t2d0 to this group or still just run the command as is? Are YOU Sancho?....No you are not. Is Scott Baio, Sancho?....NO, he is not!....Only.."I"....am Sancho!

Run ioscan -fC disk. You can figure out the cxtxdx from the line that says either CD or DVD-ROM.

For example, if you get this as the H/W Path: 0/0/1/0.1.0, the disk would be c0t1d0 (use the last three numbers from the hardware address you get from the ioscan).

or ioscan -fnC disk

you can see the device name.
(use de devices in dsk)
