Check if your processor is not overheating. Do you have a cooler placed on the cpu and a good airflow in your pc case?

Tip!

Run Memtest86 from bootable floppy or cdrom.
This will exclude potensial windows issues/errors,
run it an hour or two .

The test implicitly tests the CPU, L1 and L2 caches as well as the motherboard.

Hi, the only tip i can give from experience is to try a different OS. I had the same problem on Windows 2000 and Windows ME. I have a question, I have a motherboard for my P3, however I need to update the video drivers because i recently formatted to Windows 98. I have no idea what my motherboards name is :S..This is a really big problem, I can seem to find a name written anywhere on the board. Please if anyone can give me a tip I will greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,
Best Regards

Download Belarc Advisor or Aida32. When run, they should display the brand and possibly model of motherboard.

I have a Quantex P3 500MHz laptop that has a cracked motherboard. I'd like to replace this to give to someone but don't really know how. How can I find out what kind of motherboard to get to replace it? Also, I need some instruction on how to get the old one out and the new one in. Thanks

Laptop motherboards are expensive.

And supplied by the manufacturer. If you're lucky.

Ok - but since I do want to look into getting a motherboard, and Quantex is now bankrupt, does anyone know where I should look?
