I've had to change my motherboard and processor in my RedHat linux setup (7.2). Now, when I start the system up it gets just past the LILO stage where it says :

linux..................
linux......OK. booting the kernel

and then restarts.
It will not get further unless i use a boot dsk. Does anyone know what is wrong and how i can fix it

Thanks.

Try reinstalling lilo...

/sbin/lilo

Hi, thanks for the reply.

I've already tried re-installing lilo. I dont think its this however as the system begins loading the kernal before rebooting...

...but you can boot to a fully-funtional OS with the boot disk? If someone's post was helpful to you, please click the box "Click here to mark this post as a helpful or expert post".
