I have recently Purchased a MSI Mother Board K7T266 Pro2 and Also purchased a 40 Gig IBM Hard Drive. After Install and checking to make sure that Cmos was set to Auto Detect, which it did. I get this message when I start the PC up after POST "Searching for Boot Record from IDE-0 Not Found. Any Suggestions would be greatly Appreciated.

What operating system did you try to install?
How did you try to install it? Ed Fair

Edfair,

This is a Brand New Hard Drive and Mother Board, haven't been able to get far enough yet to Install a OS. When I start the PC it goes as far as the POST and then it gives me this message "Searching for boot Record from IDE-0 not found." So you see I haven't been able to get to that point in the Installation Process. Any Further Suggestions? Thanx

You're getting the error message because you haven't got an operating system. Try getting into CMOS and change the boot order to floppy or CDROM and boot from one of those.
If from floppy, you can manually fdisk and format the drive. If from CD the boot loader there should automatically fdisk and format for you.
