Just a little reminder : NForce 4 is a very good chipset, with or without SLI.
And talking about SLI, bear in mind that SLI is a very expensive way of getting 5-30% more performance for gaming. If you are not into gaming, you have practically no need for SLI at all, and if you are into gaming, you're better off waiting for the G70 that is coming out in just a few weeks and will perform just as well.
As for the other motherboards, I note that you are mixing Intel-based boards and AMD-based boards. You cannot compare the two without the CPU and the memory.
So then, the D955XBK is a motherboard for the Pentium EE 840, the next iteration of Intel's CPU line. In this article on Tom's Hardware, it is shown that the EE 840 is squarely beaten by the X2 4800+ and quite often by the Athlon 64 4000+. In other words, the CPU is not worth its price.
If we determine that the X2 is your way to go, then the P5WD2P isn't the one you want either - it has a similar spec sheet and is also destined for Intel chips.
So, if you have the intent of going AMD and X2, I would advocate an NForce 4 board, obviously. But drop the SLI - unless you're rich enough not to care.
