I posted this one in the win95&98 forum, but got no answers. So I thought I would try it in here.

I have started noticing that some of my win95 users seem to be having a problem using the "close all programs and log in as a different user" option. Everything seems to work fine, but when the new logon screen comes up, the "logon" and "password" fields will not allow you to enter any information.. It will allow me to delete what is there, but won't allow us to enter in the new logon name. We end up having to restart the machine, at which point everything is fine.

Has anyone seen anything like this before?? It is not machine specific as it is happening randomly to many machines.

This is happening in a NT 4.0 domain.

TIA for any help. mot98:)

First, if you are using any logon scripts, or policy editing, be sure that you do not have the " DO NOT SAVE SETTINGS ON EXIT " in effect.

Next, check the run, run services, and run once only, keys in the registry for anything out of the ordinary.

Also check the run and load lines in the WIN.INI as well.

You might want to run a virus scan on a machine that this is happening on to eliminate that possibility.
