Hi guys,

On , (pink box on the right side) they use a script that manage to find the exact city name from my IP address.

, a paid service that is supposed to be the most accurate fails to achieve that ... it shows a city next to mine.

So, according to you, where could I find the most accurate PHP script?

Thanks a lot :)

These scripts can sometimes give completely incorrect results, for example my IP address (in the UK) shows up as being in the US, purely because the internet access point for the company I work for is in the US.

Just take the results with a little pinch of salt.

Thanks Greg :)

But isn't your situation more an exception than the norm?
And was the location of your company's access pointe accurate enough at least?

I'm aware that 100% accuracy isn't possible but I'm looking for the the solution that gets the closest to 100% ... if it exists.

Thanks again :)

For most users who work for multinationals such as corporates will have minimal internet access points which could be a country / region / international level. If you are targeting home or SMB users then you should be fine.

I'd say it is more norm than exception that your ISP is in another city than yourself. For home users, this will generally be the case (at least in my country) and for companies it will not take into account that more than one location exists. So it will only be correct for ISPs and probably for one-location companies.
