Good Afternoon,
I'm new (as in VERY new) to Sharepoint, and am going through some manuals to "teach myself" Sharepoint Administration. The books I am using seem to be good enough, though they leave out one detail that as I'm getting further into this, I simply don't like.
When I install either WSS 3.0 or MOSS 2007 (either one), they seem to, by default, install themselves within the body of IIS as a virtual site named "MOSSTEST".
The questions are: Is there some method for me to "get around this"? Can I "rename" the site? (I've already tried shooting the computer, and that didn't work. Also, please note that I'm a Sun Solaris guy that has been thrown into the fray with Sharepoint - so any pointers are appreciated!!)
Thanks and have a great weekend.
Howard
