More than 2 decimal places ... sporadic problem

Using Access 2K and decided to do simple subtractions in the control source of 4 different text boxes.
Here's the sporadic problem - I sometimes get too many decimals despite setting the decimal places to 2.
I've checked the records in question and they are no different from the ones that give me the correct 2 decimals
Any suggestions?

have you checked the result box on the form that you are performing the calculations in to make sure it is formated for 2 decimal places?
