Hi,
I'm new with pix. I know that Pix don't support secondary addresses on interfaces. There're others possibilities to use more subnet behind an inside interface?
That I want is to change a cisco router that have more Ip addresses lan side with a cisco pix 520.
Is it possible use the vlan to obtain this?
Thanks
Rosario

Pixs support VLANs, the number depends on the model and software (3 on a 515E-R up to 22 on a 535-UR). However I believe the 520 is an old product, I'm not sure of its capabilities. With a router inside of the pix you are only limited to the routers capabilities. The pix only needs the routes.

I don't want use a router inside of the pix.
My problem is change a router with a pix.
Now I have:
lan||router||frontend router.
So, I would:
lan with more publics subnet||pix||frontend router.
If Pix supported secondary Ip address in the inside interface I have't problem, but pix don't support secondary Ip.
My 520 support vlan.
I must necessarily use a router inside of the pix?

Thanks
Rosario

PS: sorry for my bad english
