More Space for Tomcat

Hello,

I'm using Tomcat 5.0.28 on a Windows 2000 Server with 3 GB RAM. There is only Tomcat running I have enough memory. But when den Virtual Memory of Tomcat reaches about 800 MB, Tomcat crashes with a OutOfMemoryException.

Set CATALINA_OPTS is set to set -Xms512m -Xmx1024m.

When I set the Xmx higher it make no difference. How can I give Tomcat more memory?

If you don't mind me asking, why are you using 800Mb of RAM for Tomcat's JVM ? Whats it doing ?
