I get a "write error" when trying to schedule a report to SMTP I can go to a command line and send an e-mail from the Crystal server no problem, just like their website says to try. I have tried all their suggestions I was wondering if anyone has seen this same problem.

Thanks,
Jason

What is the exact error message? I've received the following error in my personal testing:

Issue
When I attempt schedule reports in certain formats such as Word or RTF and email that report via SMTP the instance fails with the following error message: "write error. CrystalEnterprise.Smtp: SMTP_E_TCPSOCKET_SEND(3)". I am able to successfully email other formats such as Excel, Crystal and Acrobat.

Resolution
The file size for Word and RTF documents exceeded the limit set on the IIS SMTP Server. Once the limit was raised, reports were sent from CE without any difficulty. This raises the issue, however, that the file sizes for Word and RTF Exports from CE are substantially larger than any other file format, which makes them too unwieldy to use with SMTP.

Thanks for the reply.

That is almost the error that I get, I get

write error. CrystalEnterprise.Smtp: (0)

We do not have any restrictions on our SMTP servers as far as attachments go but that is a good thought. Another thing that might factor in is we have a firewall inbetween the SMTP servers and our Crystal server. I don't actually ever see the Crystal server go through the firewall to get to the SMTP servers. Has anyone had problems with Crystal as far as not being able to see DNS servers? We have had some software freak out if we try to send it directly to an IP address, but if you put that IP address in the host file on the server then send it to that name it works fine. Anyone had this problem?

Thanks again,
