I would like to create a popup window that does not have any normal explorer junk on it.

I know how to get rid of the menubar, locationbar et cetera. What i would really like to know is how do i get rid of the title bar, the blue (original setup) bar at the top of the browser that usually says

'something or other - Microsoft Internet Explorer'

Is it even possible without major hacking???? DeltaFlyer ;-)

it is possible, but as far as i know, NOT in javascript. I know how to do so in vb or vc++ - the drawback is that it'll be windows only ... well i guess that customizing ie can only be done under windows anyway

My pages are only ever gonna be viewed through windows anyway, i am working on a NT4 intranet.

I don't wanna know the answer ((( yet!!! ))), i have no particular rush to get this done and would like to take some time to repolish my VB skills.

If you point me in the right direction then i am sure that i would be able to figure it out.

If i can't then i can always come back and ask again right???

Thanks Iza. DeltaFlyer ;-)

the secret is .... msdn ... they have really good tutorials, i'm almost sure that half of your work has already been done there ;]] - worth the check ;]

Cheers iza, will get my sleeping bag out. Looks like MSDN and me are gonna go head to head.

Okay if i give you a shout through this link if i get stuck at anypoint?? ( And to let you know how i'm getting on of course. )

Also at You don't need VB, you just need IE 5.5 or higher. There is now support for free floating layers, meaning a layer can be anywhere: in the page and out. Thus you can just pop up a layer, give it your own "chrome", toolbar, etc... and let the user drag it around at will, just like a window. Or with a bit of JScript hacking, you could make the layer dynamically resize on top of an existing window, covering the titlebar, nav buttons, etc...

no problem delta flyer, and what's more, people as good as rycamor come and add their (great !) ideas ... you're not alone here ! you can sleep well .... ;-)
