I'll be the first to admit that my job is not all "Happy Happy, Joy Joy", but I'm good at motivating the entire company. Alot of it definetly goes through little things, like mentioned in previous posts. The ones I've found that really hit home are:

1. Don't let employees get tired of their jobs. If you have to, make a game of it. Reward ALL of them, the ones that worked the hardest, reward a little more. Now this doesn't have to happen everyday...but whenever you think your employees are getting burned out or losing interest in their work.

2. GET INVOLVED! This is important in your employees eyes as it shows them you are not just taking time out of your schedule to help, but it shows that you are their friend. Encourage them when they are having problems. Tell them that you know they can do it.

Here is a link that has some good information and I would love to hear others opinions on this post...

Good site I like it.

Especially the thought (and rationale behind it) that the best way to control costs is to have a "get the job done" attitude.
