Moronic, but I don't quite catch the connection with the short story you cited. Both Sony's position reconsideration and the Kornbluth story are interesting though.
In a way the story could be an allegorical reference to Tek-Tips today... but I worry about our situation's "final solution" (or the disposition of its formulator).
As I recall society had degenerated to an overworked minority of professionals/artisans who propped up a television-besotted welfare state. A 20th century corpsicle was thawed and revivified and upon having a good look at the world and its woes came up with the idea of selling the populace at large on the idea that home sites were going cheap (or free) on Mars.
After decimating the population in this manner (rockets sent into the sun?) they determined the 20th century man simply had ideas too dangerous to be allowed loose on Earth. Thus he was herded into one of the last "Mars Express" rockets himself.
The movie "Robocop" stole one of this story's minor images, an annoying game show host who frequently exclaimed "I'll buy that for a dollar!
