Hi everyone

I have a browse (C6.1 - ABC) with Title and associated Memo (topic) fields. A Fuzzy Match search takes quite a long time to complete. I would like to be able to split the search into 3 user options ie. search Titles only, search Topics only or Both. Is this possible?

Thanks

Hi !

Don't know much about Fuzzy Matching as I do not use it BUT can't you convert your search criteria into FILTERS. And, if your backend is a SQL use SQL filters to get the data filtered by the database engine itself.

If you give more specifics, I may be able to help you convert them into filters.

Thanks ShankarJ
I have conditional filtering on the tabs but this has no effect on Fuzzy Matching, it still searches all records. It seems to have its failings, for example I have a date field and if a user were to search for a digit it will return a match if found in the LONG used for the date which would confuse a user. Its not a major problem but it would be nice to be able to choose only the fields you wanted searched. Do you think I would be better off using a more traditional search method? It appears Fuzzy Matching searches the columns in the BrowseBox queue, ListBox fields and Hot Fields regardless of filtering?
