more expensive to have two phones?

my firm allows only one physical telephone set per person. Their reasoning is they don't want to pay for a second line. But if we have a T1 circuit and the two phones would be programmed identically (one for a desk and one for a table, for instance), besides the actual second telephone set and the digital port the second phone takes up, what additional costs would be incurred? nothing, right?
 
That's right as long as you have enough available t/n's physically and in licensing.
 
Your time it take to program is a cost, but only technicians will appreciate that.

1brc is correct. No cost if you have available TN's and the phone.
