more data for os commerce

Hello all. I have uploaded os commerce & want to gain additional data.
where can I go to find some good info/tutorials on how to manipulte the php code or css so that I can have various graphic templates and the like..

alos, I have downloaded some contributions, and they say something like... "just drag this over any oscommerce store and the changes will take effect".

what does this mean.
any help would be appreciated.

Two very good books I purchased in the early days of gaining experience with oscommerce were:

osCommerce: Beginner's Edition by David Mercer ISBN number 1-904833-88-4

and

osCommerce: Professional Edition by David Mercer ISBN number 1-904833-14-0

With regards to your question about contributions, these come with instructions and how to change code. When you try a few it gets easier.

I would also encourage you to join the oscommerce forum which is free and post questions there. The response is usually very good.
